We have certainly had an interesting winter season this year with rollercoaster temperatures and a lot of rain. Driving around the neighborhood we have noticed quite a few homes that have developed mildew on the siding or garage.
With the weather hopefully starting to warm up and as the sun comes out, it makes for the perfect time to look at your home and see if it needs power washing. You might think your home’s exterior looks the same from year to year, but regular cleaning the outside of your house will help ensure it stays nice for a long time to come.
It is probably best to hire a professional power washing firm especially to get to the higher areas of your home. There are plenty firms in the area you can contact.
Pressure washing doesn’t have to be done by a professional. You can rent a pressure washer from your local home improvement store if you are handy. Start from the top and work your way down, washing patios and decks last.
Spring is a much better time to pressure wash, as the plants in your yard are likely to be a lot smaller in spring and less likely to get in the way. Take appropriate precaution as intense high pressure can damage wood and other softer materials.
Make a note of any damaged areas on your siding or other exterior material and make plans to get repairs as needed.
We do ask residents to inspect their homes in the next couple of weeks and schedule power washing.
