Lochmere's annual Halloween Costume Parade and Party for Lochmere children (and grandchildren) ages 10 & under is being held at the Lochwood Pool upper parking lot on Saturday, October 30, from 2-4:30PM, rain or shine.

For those of you who are not familiar with this idea, you can decorate your car, truck bed, or van. The kids love it. Be creative -- the children will cast their votes for the People's Choice.

This year the children will have a parade through the lower parking lot to show off their costumes and then walk through the upper parking lot and stop at the decorated cars to gather clues for a scavenger hunt. They can also decorate a section of the parking lot with their chalk art crerations.  At the end of the scavenger hunt, they will receive a goody box courtesy of the HOA. We will also have a spot for you to take your child's picture with a colorful fall backdrop.

To make this a safe and healthy event, the event will be split into 45-minute segments.  Each segment will be limited to 75 people in the decorated vehicle area. Each segment will start with the parade of costumes.  Then families can visit the decorated vehicles.  This are will be sectioned off from the rest of the parking lot. When you sign up:

• Please indicate which time slot you would like and how many children are attending. 
• Please indicate that you are going to decorate your vehicle and what your theme will be.
• If you decorate your vehicle and hand out goodies, please package them as individual treats.  Please no nuts!

So kids, start thinking about dressing up and joining the fun. And parents, think about how you are going to decorate your vehicle.
