Lochmere's annual Halloween Costume Parade and Party for Lochmere children (grandchildren, nieces, nephews) ages 10 & under is being held at the Lochwood Pool upper parking lot on Saturday, October 26, from 2-4:30 PM, rain or shine. To register, please visit HERE.

While we will still have our traditional parade of costumers, this year we would like to see the return of a Trunk Or Treat theme. For those of you who are not familiar with this idea, you can decorate your car, truck bed, or van. The kids love it. 

This year we would also like to remember our neighbors in Western North Carolina as they struggle with the incredible destruction and daily life caused by Hurricane Helene.  Lochmere is such a giving community and we ask that you help us as we give some relief to these people.  The cold winter weather is right around the corner in the mountains and as the holidays approach, let's give our neighbors some Lochmere warmth and hope.  The following are items which we ask you donate (items can be for children or adults):

• Books
• Socks
• Mittens
• Hats
• Scaves
• Blankets
• Pet Supplies

The event will be split into two (2) segments.  However, please feel free to linger and visit with your neighbors and just have fun.  Each segment will be limited to 120 people in each 75-minute time period.  Each segment will start with the parade of costumes.  Then they can:

• make a Halloween decoration to take home with them
• make a holiday ornament to send to western North Carolina
• visit the decorated vehicles
• get a temporary tattoo on their arm
• get an autumn family picture taken
• show off their chalk art pictures
• play hopscotch and line dance
• go on a scavenger hunt

This area will be sectioned off from the rest of the parking lot.

At the end of the scavenger hunt, they will receive a goody bag courtesy of the HOA.

When you sign up:

• Please indicate which time slot you would like and how many children are attending. 

So kids (and parents), start thinking about dressing up and joining the fun.

When you are letting us know how many to expect, please sign up to help. We need people to direct and accompany children through the parking lot for the parade as well as assisting with helping the children make crafts to take home.
