July 31 Update: We have been notified by Town Of Cary Public Works that they are moving forward with this as soon as they can get it on the schedule. This should be late next week (week of August 3) or early the following week (weather-permitting).
Town of Cary Transportation Department has notified us that Town Council recently approved a reduction to the posted speed limit for Lochmere Drive from 35 mph to 30 mph. The Town is preparing to implement that reduction in the coming weeks by replacing the speed limit signs in the community.
The traffic report and resulting reduction in the speed limit was a result of residents reaching out to staff through the Traffic Calming Program and requested reviews of the posted speed limits along Lochmere Drive.
